PLMD

July 18, 2007

Well we (eva and i) have officially made a diagnosis for a well known but little talked about condition we will from now on refer to as Parking Lot Mental Disorder, or PLMD for short.  Why is it that when the general public crosses the invisible border of a parking lot, we lose basic driving and turning skills as well as experience a general decrease in awareness of surroundings?  Why does a simple turn into a parking space all of a sudden require 9 points?  Why is it that we are moving so much more slowly, but are far more likely to almost kill someone with a motor vehicle?  Why on earth is it so hard to remember where one parked just minutes before, and why again when one is walking about looking for said vehicle must it be in such a zoned out state of mind that one would walk right in front of a moving car, van, or truck? Why, why why….

Well, there can only be one conclusion, there must be a condition.   We shall call it Parking Lot Mental Disorder or PLMD for short…

why

Why is my chair at work all of a sudden so much harder than it used to be?  My bottom is becoming numb and well frankly i just can’t get comfortable.  I have tried sitting all the way to the back up straight, I have tried scooting all the way to the front in the sort of lowrider lean back pose,  I have tried one leg folded up on the chair, leaning to the left, leaning to the right.  and you know what,  STILL NOT SOFT.  What in the world could cause such a drastic and unwelcome change??

Chair, we used to be close.  You used to be there for me.  I can see its all going to be different now.

why

Why would you buy a car that is the exact same color as the state patrol cars?  I don’t understand it one bit.  Do you just want lots of people to be secretively flipping you off?
